My 2008 Planner

I just got my Starbucks 2008 Planner this afternoon! :)

In my opinion, this is the best Starbucks planner so far. (I've been collecting the stickers since 2005.) Even if I seldom use the planner, there's just a sense of accomplishment when you've filled your card with stickers. :)

It's amazing how people are getting crazy over collecting the stickers. Check out Starbucks at 12:30pm-2pm or 8pm-9:30pm until December 25. Almost everyone in line (maybe except for the oldies, hehe) has the Starbucks card.

I bet the marketing people behind this already got sky high raises or promoted to that coveted higher position. The Starbucks loyalty card is simple and very very effective. And the double-your-sticker promo is just clever! :)

Ok, so obviously I'm a Starbucks girl...
1) I can sneak in a Starbucks coffee inside the office - covered discreetly in tissue, even if we have unlimited coffee (I hope I don't get a memo for this and that THIS entry does not happen to get into my 201 file as evidence, hehehe.)**
2) I already got two slips for the Starbucks online questionnaire (randomly generated and issued when you buy a drink) from two different stores and of course 2 treats of my choice of beverage! (Another clever idea from the marketing team. I wonder what's the response rate for this.)

**We are the world's largest food & beverage company. We are the market leader for soluble instant coffee. (Stated as a matter of fact.) Syempre, dapat love your own diba? ;)

The 7-year gap

I spent the whole day for errands and to buy Ramil's bilin for the US. Woke up early and went to Greenhills. Greenhills in December isn't exactly appealing. Traffic is horrible. And finding a parking space is just torture. Anyway, I was able to go there early and was able to choose a convenient parking space. I then systematically headed for the things to be bought. And this is the best part:

While buying CDs for Ramil from his suki CD store...

Me (to the salesgirl): Miss, meron kayo nung kay Rod Stewart? Yung Vol 3 and 4? Pati yung Classics niya, meron ba nun?

Salesgirl: Ay, yung Vol 3 and 4 ok yun, mabenta yun.

Customer (40-ish looking guy beside me checking the CDs): Oo maganda yung Vol 3 and 4 ni Rod Stewart.

Me: Ah talaga, sige miss pahingi ako nun.

Salesgirl (while looking for the CDs): Eto si sir suki na namin yan dito. Alam nyang updated kami lagi.

Customer: Ok yang Rod Stewart.......para kanino yan, sa parents mo?

Me (laughing): Ah, eh, pinabili lang po. (Speechless na ako dito, hehe.)

Hahaha, bebe that's sooo funny! Para daw sa parents ko yung CDs mo! Hehehe. Di ko na nasabi that those were for you. Baka sabihin ang tanda naman ng mapapangasawa ko. Eh I look young pa naman. Hehehe, peace. Love you bebe! :)

DB and GB

For fear that I might have another wedding nightmare, I am posting this wedding update:

Finally asked Ms D.B. (my boss' celebrity GF) if she can be our Principal Sponsor. Told her that H.C. (my boss) already agreed to be one of my ninongs and of course who would be the best partner but her right? :) Of course she said yes. :)

We had dinner at Fish Out of Water at the newly opened Greenbelt 5. These frog legs were yummy!

And the Rockefeller oysters were unforgettable! (Dalawa na lang natira when I took this pic, hehe.)

I also just had to take a picture of their menu. I was so hungry and was so engrossed on what's good to eat, I wasn't able to check the whole "book/menu".

Missed you terribly bebe. Missed our movie nights, our gimmick nights, our resto adventures, our weekend mallings...I'm taking it one day at a time. Sooo excited to see you. Ilang tulog na lang! :)

O.C.D.

For the past weeks, I haven't poured as much time and effort on the wedding preps. I have most of the major suppliers, if not all, covered already. I think about the details now and then but have not actually actively acted on them yet.

But what I have been obssessing about since I started with the preps is my wedding invite. I know I just couldn't settle for the usual wedding invite. I want something different. Early on I have already made a project brief on it - the look and feel and all that. On powerpoint! But I guess that doesn't completely translate what's on my head. I need an artist (a real Fine Arts person, an artist, and not just someone who can lay-out pics and can manipulate stuff on Photoshop or Illustrator) who can concretize (is there such a word?) what I have on my head (I'm a frustrated artist; I swear if I didn't take science I'd be in Fine Arts), give creative inputs and not just execute what I say. Anyway, I hope I found the one. And I hope I can actually afford her! :) I'm sooo excited; I hope she exceeds expectations. Can't wait til Saturday for some studies.

Ok, so now I digress.

Went to saGuijo with Raymond and Em last Tuesday to catch Chillitees (checking them out for their wedding). I'm so glad I went! I had a blast with them watching the bands. Chillitees is just great (for lack of a better term). I guess if most of my guests were just cool enough, I would get them too! Hehehe. :)

Chillitees!

Congratulations Raymond and Em! Wedding preps is exciting diba?! :) So cool we have same suppliers! :)

I hope I get to go to saGuijo again soon and more often. But sino naman aayain ko? Most of my friends are pop- or R&B-kids naman hehe! :P I want to watch Up Dharma Down, Cynthia Alexander, etc etc! If you were here bebe kukulitin kita to go with me. Even if I know balladeer ka, hehehehe.

Cebu lovers and sun worshippers

I so looked forward to the Sumilon trip last weekend. The island was a respite from the seemingly predictable city life and concrete jungle of Manila. The island destination was paradise; the journey to the island was memorable - from missed flights to Carcar's popular lechon eaten at Jollibee. Thanks to Laurence, Dodge, Nikki, and Abi for the experience. You guys give me more reasons to love Cebu! :)

On the boat going to Sumilon Island Bluewater Resort.

I just love this pic! So cute!

Trying to get a tan?

Had a blast taking pictures of Nikki, Abi, Laurence & Dodge taking their pics. Stalker ang dating ko hahaha.

Wish you were here bebe.

At Cafe Georg. Great food! Have to go back to this place. :)

My LaMarea fudge brownie fix before heading back to Manila.

Last stop over before leaving - Shangri-la Mactan. Fudge brownie and alcohol: perfect combination. Good excuse for a sick leave hehehe. Sir Eric, shouldn't you be on the plane by this time? :)
